Hunter Feeder™ is a field-tested, patent-pending concept currently available for licensing.

A passive, cartridge-ready feeder for live insect delivery—designed to attract native species most feeders miss.

Below is 15 minutes of activity, condensed to 90 seconds.
This video is demonstrating the Hunter Feeder™’s passive release in action—no motors, no timers—just design doing the work.

Captured in real-time and shown here at 10× speed, the above 15-minute window reveals how even a short session supports native species:

  • 8 visits

  • 6 live mealworms consumed

  • 9 kcal delivered

  • 0.72 g protein

  • 0.75 g hydration

  • 0 electricity, 0 waste, 0 mess

That’s nearly ¼ of a Northern House Wren’s daily energy needs, delivered passively—without timers, noise, or handling.

It’s not just feeding. It’s supporting the ecosystem.

The Origin of Hunter Feeder

I found a Carolina Wren on the edge of the yard. It had a broken leg and moved awkwardly, but it was alive. My son keeps birds. He had a spare cage. We brought the bird inside and gave it a place to rest.

We tried feeding it seed. It didn’t eat. I looked up what wrens eat and saw they take insects. I bought mealworms from the bird and reptile store. Dropping one in the cage the bird lunged. Fast and certain. Any hesitation of getting close to us was overpowered by his instinct to get his next meal. It was small but it hunted with purpose.

It wasn’t just feeding. It was something older. Something wired deep in instincts.

That moment stayed with me.

I built Hunter Feeder for birds like that. For birds that hunt. A feeder that delivers insects over time, cleanly and simply. No power. No noise. Just timing, gravity, and design.

Most feeders are for birds that graze.
This one is not.

Feeding at Ground Level

The Hunter Feeder™ can also be used for natural, open feeding—delivering mealworms directly to the ground for wild foraging.

Footage of a wren discovering dropped feed in an open area. Not every worm gets eaten, and that’s part of the design. Unconsumed worms improve your yard’s ecosystem, feeding other wildlife and enriching the soil.

This is the ultimate in natural feeding—no tray, no boundaries. Just an open invitation to turn your backyard into the habitat these birds are looking for.

You’re not just feeding a bird. You’re building an environment.
